Levels of Consciousness
Different levels of consciousness do not share the same reality.
What IS consciousness is one of the most challenging scientific questions of our times. What I am sure of is that there are many different levels of consciousness amongst human beings. Each level of consciousness creates a unique world view, a picture of “reality”.
Subconsciously we decide which details, from the endless data our senses get, seem relevant for creating the picture of reality and which seem irrelevant and should be censored. This decision is taken according to the level of our consciousness.
Do you know how when your consciousness is busy with something, let's say with the question of having children soon, all of a sudden you start to see pregnant women all around you? They were there before of course, but it was irrelevant for you, so you censored it from your attention.
Your level of consciousness is reflected by the things that you take for granted. For you, they form the picture of “reality”. You really think this picture IS reflecting reality.
What you might want to take into consideration is that for a person who is just 1 step lower than you in their level of consciousness, those things that for you are a simple reality, are just amazing. They look at it with admiration. They want it for themselves too. It inspires them and they aspire to grow and expand their consciousness to be like you. Those people will become your students, your followers, your readers. They will pay money to read you, to hear you, and get inspired by you.
Nevertheless for a person who is not 1 step lower than you, but 2 steps lower, your world does not seem admirable at all. For them, your world seems crazy. They will laugh at it, mock it, and sometimes like to say that they even know you, to add some colorful lines to their picture of reality.
From 3 levels lower than you, your world seems not just crazy but totally absurd. It seems ridiculous and sometimes even threatening and dangerous.
From 4 levels lower than you, your world is not seen at all. It is transparent and undetectable. They can't even comprehend creatures like you actually exist.
On the other hand, for a person with a higher level of consciousness than yours, your picture of reality seems a bit boring.
For a person with 2 levels of consciousness higher than you, your world seems gross.
From 3 levels up your picture of reality seems pathetic.
From 4 levels above you, your world seems worthy of compassion and needs healing.
The funny (and a bit sad) thing is that people keep on arguing with each other about what is real and what is crazy, what is a dangerous approach to life because it is just a naïveté and what is dangerous because it is closed-minded and ethnocentric while they are not existing on the same level of consciousness and they are not really sharing the same reality picture within them.
So, does love exist as a universal power? Or is it nothing but the wishful thinking of some naive people?
What do you think?
